The Bran Flakes have signed on with Illegal Art who will be releasing our next album, "I HAVE HANDS" first part of 2009. We are very excited to be a part of the Illegal Art family of artists, that include Steinski, Girl Talk, Realistic, Oh Astro and others! Read More here.

The Raymond Scott Archives have given The Bran Flakes free reign to plunder the catalog for a 2009 centennial remix album. More news on this as-yet untitled project as it develops.

Collaborations on tracks are in the works with R. Stevie Moore, Atif Siddiqi, El Muñecon, Bomarr, and Eddie The Rat.

September 10th is the 100th anniversary of Raymond Scott's birth! Come hit the Centennial celebrations off with an evening of music and merriment.

The Concordia Raymond Scott "Quintette" will perform classics by Scott (2 sets).

I'll be the cocktail DJ in the corner, playing a plethora of Scott's music that evening in-between acts.

Evening begins at 8pm on September 10th. Recommended attire is 30's-40's style suit or dress (formal).

The 365 Days Project featured over 200 people sharing from their stash of aural treasures over the course of two calendar years. Some words to describe the material featured would be... Celebrity, Children, Demonstration, Indigenous, Industrial, Outsider, Song-Poem, Spoken, Ventriloquism, and on and on and on. The best thing to do is to simply listen.

Comfort Stand Recordings was a community-driven label where all releases were free with artwork and liner notes. The recordings featured were those that we found interesting, compelling and downright enjoyable. After a 2.5 year run the stand closed on April 1, 2006. The project was over and staff members and bands have gone on to other projects. We may return one day, but most likely in another form and dimension. We will no longer release any new works, but our 80 albums, 16 singles, and 8 compilations will remain online free.

The Friendly Persuasion radio show ran from 1999-2007, starting on Free Seattle Pirate Radio and ending up on the FM dial. From 1999-2003 the show appeared on Antenna Internet Radio and was sponsored by Cool and Strange Music Magazine. The show has ended and will not be brought back to life from it's cold dead grave. Listen to 30 episodes that appeared on Luxuria Music in 2005. All shows are one hour long, no talk, just the mix. I produced 29 in the year and one (on August 2) was produced by the very talented Fortyone. Special guest IDs and theme songs were contributed by Bentley the Butler, Eddie The Rat, Flavia & The Motonets, Fortyone, Jima, Jean Jacques Perrey, The Lounge King, Naomi Hall, Mildred Pitt, R.
